How to check a public Story
- Copy the link to a public Instagram Story you own or are authorized to save.
- Open the VGSAVE downloader and paste the URL.
- Select Get download options.
- Choose one of the qualities returned for the source.
- Download the prepared file using your browser.
Why a Story may not be available
Stories are temporary media and may disappear or become unavailable before a link is processed. A link can also require access that VGSAVE does not provide. VGSAVE does not bypass private accounts, login requirements, or access controls.
What quality will I get?
The available quality depends on the source media. VGSAVE cannot create a higher-quality original when the source does not provide it. See the video quality guide for an explanation of resolution and file size.
Phone and desktop use
The service runs in a browser, so you can use it from a phone, tablet, or computer. Large videos can use significant storage and mobile data.

Common problems
- Detection fails: verify that the URL is complete and publicly accessible.
- Story expired: the source may no longer expose the media.
