YouTube Shorts are short-form vertical videos. When a Short is public and supported, VGSAVE can check the link and show the media options available from the source. Use the service only for content you own or have permission to download.
How to download a public YouTube Short
- Open the public Short in your browser and copy its URL.
- Open the VGSAVE downloader.
- Paste the Short URL into the public media URL box.
- Select Get download options.
- Choose an MP4 quality that VGSAVE reports as available.
- Wait for preparation to finish, then use the download button.
Which quality should you choose?
Choose a quality that matches the source and your intended use. A higher number such as 1080p does not automatically mean that every video will look better; the original recording and compression matter too. Higher-resolution files can also use more storage and data.
VGSAVE does not promise 1080p or 4K for every Short. If the source does not provide a quality, it should not be expected to appear. See the video quality guide for a simple explanation.
Why a Shorts link may not work
- The Short is private, restricted, removed, or otherwise inaccessible.
- The URL is not currently supported by the service.
- The source platform has changed how the media is delivered.
- A temporary processing or network problem occurred.
Do not use a downloader to bypass private access controls. If a supported public link fails, try again later and check the troubleshooting guide.

A public YouTube Short can still be protected by copyright or other rights. Public visibility is not the same as permission to copy or redistribute the work. Before downloading, make sure your intended use is authorized and follow the applicable platform rules.
